Dr. A-S had a great manner explaining in a calm way, as I am an adult, problem and surgery. I have actually referred a nonverbal autistic 9-year-old girl with strabismus who he will take into surgery in [...]. I think he will do really well with her. They saw seven other doctors before I referred her dad to my surgeon.

Exceptional doctor. He seems to really know his area of expertise very well. I was also impressed with the number of different kinds of diagnostic equipment and instruments at his disposal, and his ability to use them. His demeanor is friendly and very professional.

Dr. Al Sammarrie was the most incredible doctor I have ever had the Pleasuure of working with. He was compassionate to my son and understanding. He took the time to explain things to me about my child's condition and had the most incredible passion for educating his patients that I've ever seen. He is a blessing to the VCU medical team and I was blown away by his bedside manner. Excellent physician.
